Kiersten Rippeteau: Organization Development Consultant
Please introduce yourself.
My name is Kiersten Rippeteau. I was born and raised here in Evanston and moved back a little before my son was born because I couldn’t imagine raising him anywhere else! In addition to my most important job as his mom, I’m also a consultant and a student in Benedictine’s Master’s of Management and Organizational Behavior program.
What is your work and why are you passionate about it?
I am an Organization Development consultant, partnering with large construction companies. I’m a believer in business as a force for good in our world, and I get to see that belief through by helping businesses perform well so they can do good for their people and communities. That’s pretty rewarding.
What have you most enjoyed about being a part of the 818 community?
Working in an environment with people from different backgrounds and doing different work, you find connections and support you might not expect. The energy and opportunity to really thrive is so much different than it might be showing up at an office where you all work for the same company or working solo from home. It stretches your thinking and grows your professional community 10-fold.
What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?
The obvious answer is my son. But the most fun answer is this killer outfit my dad got me for Christmas one year – it was probably 1988 or so…? It was a purple corduroy skirt with yellow tights and a purple, yellow, and green sweater. Looking back, it was actually pretty awful…I wonder what I’m wearing today that I might regret when I look back in 30 years!?
